Former ALI Treasurer (1975-2010) and prominent attorney Bennett Boskey passed away on May 12, 2016. He became an ALI member in 1951 and was elected to its Council in 1972. To honor his passing, family, friends, and colleagues paid tribute to Boskey’s life at a service held during the 2016 ALI Annual Meeting.
Boskey, a solo practitioner in Washington, was a partner at the law firm of Volpe, Boskey and Lyons and its predecessors until its dissolution in 1996. In 2007, he received the Institute’s Distinguished Service Award for his long and outstanding service to the Institute and his many contributions to its work. The library and studio complex at ALI’s Philadelphia headquarters was named “The Bennett Boskey Library and Studio” in his honor.
