Tom Baker (Penn Law), Reporter for the Restatement of the Law, Liability Insurance, explains the various parts of a Restatement and cites the goal and purpose of each component. Black letter, Comments, and Illustrations can all be seen even in the earliest draft of the Restatement of the Law, Contracts. Reporter’s (or Reporters’) Notes were included in the Appendix Volumes within the Restatement Second series.
