In 2013, Patricia M. Wald (D.C. Cir.-Retired) was named as a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor bestowed by the government. She was one of 15 other remarkable individuals to receive the honor, including President Clinton, Benjamin C. Bradlee, and Oprah Winfrey.
